We are pleased to announce that Mr. Keita SAIKAWA (Currently in Heidelberg University) and Dr. Hirai recently participated in the Transducers 2025 in Orlando, FLORIDA on 29 June -3 July, 2025. Our lab. had the honor of presenting the following research:
Presentation Title: Microfluidics-Guided Assembly of Fluorescent Nanodiamonds for Temperature Mapping of a Cell Aggregate
Authors: KKeita Saikawa (Presenter), Zetsu Masaya, Daiki Ueshima, Taiichi Shikama, Ken-ichiro Kamei, Osamu Tabata, Yoshikazu Hirai
📌 In this study, we developed a novel thermometry technique using vertically assembled fluorescent nanodiamonds (FNDs) guided by a PDMS-based microfluidic template. This innovative method improves the signal-to-noise ratio and enables highly sensitive, real-time temperature mapping in 3D cell aggregates. We successfully demonstrated its applicability by detecting temperature variations in chemically stimulated cell clusters — a promising step toward advanced biological sensing.
👏 👏 We are proud of Keita for his excellent work and grateful for the opportunity to exchange ideas with researchers from around the world!
